Introduction to the Furnace Flue Gas Fixed-Bed Dry Desulfurization Project of Fujian Dadonghai Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

- Application of Radial Flow Technology for Large Flue Gas Volumes


In order to better meet environmental protection requirements and respond to the national policy of ultra-low emissions, Fujian Dadonghai Industrial Group Co., Ltd. has planned to implement flue gas treatment for its strip steel reheating furnaces and medium-thick plate reheating furnaces. Adhering to the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," the project aims to ensure that emission indicators fully comply with environmental standards, align with China's "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality" goals, and achieve sustainable development in harmony with the ecological environment.


The project adopts a calcium-based fixed-bed dry desulfurization process. After completion and commissioning, all technical indicators are expected to meet the requirements specified in the technical agreement as well as environmental protection standards.

Ideal Application of Radial Flow Technology for Large Flue Gas Volumes

The project covers three 1850mm strip reheating furnaces and two 3800mm medium-thick plate reheating furnaces, with a total flue gas volume of approximately 1,500,000 m³/h.
Considering the large gas volume, limited on-site space, and the need to minimize operational costs-particularly by reusing existing fans to avoid additional power consumption-the project adopts a radial flow configuration as an optimal solution.

Integrated Coordination for Multi-Furnace Flue Gas Treatment

The project integrates the flue gas from multiple furnaces for combined desulfurization and dust removal. This involves challenges such as balancing fluctuations in furnace operation, process requirements, and coordination with the overall desulfurization and dust removal system. Through meticulous pipeline system design, pressure loss analysis, and system optimization, the project achieves stable and balanced operation across multiple process points.

National Policy Support

According to Announcement No. 33 of 2023 jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of the People's Republic of China, the fixed-bed dry desulfurization technology and equipment have been officially included in the Catalogue of Major Environmental Protection Technologies and Equipment Encouraged by the State (2023 Edition), recognizing it as a nationally supported and promoted technological innovation.

Hot blast stove flue gas volume from pulverized coal injection: 6.1×104 ~ 6.9×104 Nm³/h (adjustable according to flue gas temperature)

Flue gas inlet temperature to heat exchanger: 160°C - 180°C

Inlet parameters: Dust < 100 mg/Nm³; SO2 < 150 mg/Nm³

Outlet parameters: Dust < 10 mg/Nm³; SO2 < 35 mg/Nm³
