2 Brief Description of the Process
2.1 Brief Description of the Process
The continuous casting billet is clamped onto the billet charging platform by a crane clamp, or it is transported from the continuous casting outlet roller table to the furnace end charging roller table via the charging roller table. It is then pushed into the furnace by a hydraulic pusher and heated in the furnace to a temperature of 1050°C to 1250°C before being taken out. The heated continuous casting billet is sequentially discharged by the side steel removal machine and transported to the roughing mill unit through the discharge roller table for rolling.

2.2 Layout of Reheating Furnace Area
A new pusher type reheating furnace is built in the reheating furnace area.

The reheating furnace is equipped with combustion air blower, flue gas induced draft fan and coal smoke induced draft fan, which are located in the blower room and induced draft fan room respectively.

The reheating furnace is equipped with two steel chimneys, one for gas side exhaust and the other for air side exhaust.

The reheating furnace is equipped with a separate electrical room for housing the electrical cabinet of the furnace.

The charging and discharging operations, instrument control, and electrical control of the reheating furnace are centralized in the main control room located on the furnace's discharging side.

The gas connection platform of the reheating furnace is arranged outside the furnace area of the plant.


The steam drum platform and pump room are arranged vertically on one side of the heating furnace.

The hydraulic station for the pusher machine is set up separately and located near the side of the pusher machine.


Reheating Furnace Process Plan
3.1 Features of the Design Plan
1) 
The reheating furnace adopts a dual regenerative combustion mode, with burners arranged on the side wall of the furnace. The furnace has a simple and compact structure, resulting in high thermal efficiency.

2) The burners adopt the latest combustion concepts, offering smaller size, longer lifespan, lower energy consumption, and lesser combustion losses compared to previous models.

3) The reversing valve adopts a next-generation product, with lower resistance loss, more reliable sealing, and easier replacement of vulnerable parts.


4) The reheating furnace utilizes a three-stage furnace temperature automatic control and an improved dual-cross limit continuous control. This enables better furnace temperature control progression and responsiveness, effectively reducing combustion losses and conserving fuel.

3.3 Combustion System of Reheating Furnace
The reheating furnace adopts the left and right combined burner, where air and gas are combined into one combustion unit.

The burner consists of a heat storage tank and a nozzle. The heat storage tank is a steel shell lined with heat insulation material and casting material, and the heat storage body is placed inside. The nozzle is made of the refractory material of the furnace wall and is casted as a whole.


Multi-layer sealing structure is adopted between the heat storage tank and the furnace wall. The nozzle and the furnace wall are integrated and fixed by the anchor brick of the furnace wall and the steel plate of the furnace skin, so as to eliminate the problem of gas stringing and fire leakage of the furnace wall.

The interface between the heat storage chamber and the pipes takes into account the balance and deviation of air intake and exhaust flow. The burner nozzle considers issues such as the air mixing angle, velocity, primary and secondary mixing, as well as the deviation of exhaust flow.
