Product Introduction
Heating furnaces and homogenizing furnaces are thermal equipment used for heating and homogenizing steel billets or ingots during the steel rolling process. Burner bricks are refractory products suitable for the nozzle area, serving to prevent the action of flames. Their lifespan is generally 3-6 months. The main reason for this is that bauxite cement, as a binding agent, introduces calcium oxide into the castable, forming low-melting substances when used at high temperatures. This significantly reduces the refractory performance of the castable, leading to severe deformation of the burner bricks in the later stages of use. This alteration in the temperature field inside the furnace affects the heating quality of the steel billets, prompting users to replace the burner bricks.
In fact, the castables with bauxite cement as a binding agent usually have mediocre thermal shock stability and poor resistance to spalling. They exhibit weak capability to withstand sudden temperature changes, thereby causing the peeling and damage of burner bricks.
