Furnace Description
1. 
Design Conditions and Basic Parameters of Reheating Furnace
1.1 Raw Material Condition
1)  Production steel grade:carbon steel ,high-quality carbon steel,bridge Steel,alloy steel,boiler and pressure vessel steel,high-rise steel,tool steel,stainless steel etc. 
2) The specifications for continuous casting billets are as follows:
Thickness(200~400) × Width(1600~2400) × Length(2400~4000)

Standard billet: Thickness 400 ×Width 2200× Length 3800 .


1.2 Basic Parameters of Reheating Furnace
1.2.1 Type and quantity of reheating furnace
A new heating furnace will be constructed, adopting the dual regenerative combustion method using blast furnace gas and air. The steel will be loaded into the furnace by a charging machine and unloaded by a tapping machine. The charging arrangement can be single or double, considering the possibilities. The supporting beams will be cooled by vaporization.

1.2.3 Charging temperature and hot charge ratio

1.2.4 Depending on the specific requirements of the final product, the steel billet is discharged from the furnace at a temperature ranging from 1150 to 1300°C.
Oxidation loss:≤0.8%(Carbon steel)
1.2.5 Furnace pressure control

1.2.6 Reheating furnace capacity for process requirements
Cold charge rated capacity:130t/h (Standard billet, plain carbon steel)

1.2.7 Level of automation control
Translation: The production process from the loading roller conveyor to the unloading roller conveyor of the billet is achieved through computerized automatic tracking control. The heating furnace utilizes proportional combustion to achieve automatic adjustment of furnace temperature and pressure, as well as tracking of materials inside the furnace.
Unit consumption of reheating furnace
Unit consumption: 1.3 GJ per ton of billet (Cold charge rated capacity, carbon structural steel, standard billet, stable gas pressure).


2. Brief Description of Reheating Furnace Process, Layout and Civil Engineering
2.1 Brief Description of Process
When a production order is issued, the steel grade, weight, dimensions of the billet, the production status of continuous casting, as well as the required reheating temperature, rolling passes, plate thickness, and other production data are simultaneously transmitted from the continuous casting process to the secondary control systems of the reheating furnace and rolling mill. In other words, the billet parameters are transmitted from continuous casting to rolling, and the handover and inspection of the billet take place at the interface between the two production workshops. Firstly, the billet number is checked to ensure consistency between the billet number on the roller table and the billet number received from the computer. Once confirmed, partial data of the billet is verified, mainly including weighing and length measurement. Upon compliance, the identification information is officially transferred from continuous casting to rolling. There are two types of billets in the billet yard: one is the billet from the continuous casting process, which only requires verification of the billet identity. The other type is externally purchased billets, which requires the operator to manually input the billet information into the MHI keyboard based on the production order. Additionally, weighing and length measurement are performed to provide data for the reheating furnace production.

2.2 Layout of Reheating Furnace
A new step-beam type heating furnace is constructed in the heating furnace area.
The reheating furnace is equipped with two auxiliary combustion blowers (one in use, one standby), one forced draft fan for flue gas
 and one induced draft fan for coal smoke.

The reheating furnace is equipped with two chimneys, one for gas-side exhaust and the other for air-side exhaust.
The reheating furnace has a gas platform located outside the main plant area and is equipped with gas valve groups.
A vaporization cooling system is installed in the reheating furnace.
The charging operation room is a refurbished original slab stacking operation room, and the tapping operation room is shared with the soaking furnace #1. It is responsible for slab information management, reheating furnace charging and tapping operations, combustion control, vaporization water cooling, and other controls.
The electrical room in the furnace area is a refurbished facility. It includes a high-voltage distribution room, a low-voltage control room, and a newly constructed transformer room.
The heating furnace is equipped with a hydraulic station.
Cooling water systems are arranged for the charging doors, tapping doors, and other water-cooled components as required. Platforms and ladders are provided around the furnace and at the top for operation and maintenance needs.
Two water pits are set at the bottom of the heating furnace, and drainage pumps are installed next to the water pits.

3. Equipment and Facilities of Reheating Furnace
3.1 
Furnace Structure
The reheating furnace is divided longitudinally into the first heating zone, the second heating zone and the soaking zone. All sections utilize segmented and side-changing direction system.
The reheating furnace top features a flat roof structure without downward pressure, and no partition walls are installed inside the furnace.

3.3 Combustion System of Reheating Furnace
The reheating furnace combustion system mainly includes:

--Other auxiliary facilities
The reheating furnace adopts regenerative burners with three heating sections, and the furnace temperature is automatically controlled. By setting the temperature values for each heating section, the input of fuel quantity is controlled to ensure the uniformity of steel outlet temperature and temperature.

The burners are arranged in a left-right configuration, and all regenerative chamber openings are designed to be enlarged to facilitate maintenance and replacement of regenerative media.
The burners adopt low-nitrogen storage-type burners, and staged mixing combustion is used for the combustion of air and gas. The nozzles are equipped with a smoke recirculation structure to achieve uniform mixed combustion and reduce high-temperature zones, thereby achieving low-nitrogen combustion.

The reversing valve is arranged on both sides of the reheating furnace. The furnace top pipeline layout refers to the design layout of medium-thickness plate pipelines on both sides of the furnace body. The air, gas, and smoke main pipelines are arranged on both sides of the furnace to ensure sufficient heat dissipation space at the furnace top.

The furnace area mechanical equipment and hydraulic system mainly include:

2) Charging and tapping machines of reheating furnace;
