Axial internally pressurized bellows compensator, also known as an axial expansion joint, axial compensator, or axial metal expansion joint, is primarily used for compensating axial displacement. It can also compensate for lateral displacement or a combination of axial and lateral displacement, and has the ability to compensate for angular displacement, although it is generally not applied for angular displacement compensation. The axial internally pressurized bellows compensator is mainly used for the safe operation of pipelines and serves the following purposes:

1. Compensating and absorbing thermal deformations in the axial, lateral, and angular directions of the pipeline.
2. The expansion and contraction of the bellows compensator facilitate the installation and disassembly of valves and pipelines.
3. Absorbing equipment vibrations and reducing the impact of equipment vibrations on the pipeline.
4. Absorbing deformation caused by earthquakes or ground subsidence on the pipeline.

It consists of a bellows (an elastic element) that forms its main body, along with end pipes, supports, flanges, and connecting pipes as accessories. The compensator can compensate for the thermal expansion of pipelines, thereby reducing stress on the pipe walls and forces acting on valves or supporting structures. Bellows compensators are a newly developed industrial product in recent years and are elastic compensating elements that can freely expand and contract with the system. They effectively and reliably compensate for temperature-induced displacement in various fluid delivery pipelines, as well as displacements caused by factors such as media and environment, equipment or buildings, and errors resulting from engineering systems and equipment installations. They can also effectively balance pressure fluctuations in the system. They provide excellent functionality in terms of anti-seismic measures, vibration reduction, vibration absorption, and noise reduction.
