Product Introduction
Low-cement refractory castable refers to a type of refractory castable based on calcium aluminate cement in which the CaO content is below 2.5%. In other words, the amount of calcium aluminate cement added is only about 1/2 to 1/3 of that used in conventional calcium aluminate cement castables.
In these castables, the lower CaO content reduces the formation of low-melting phases, thereby enhancing temperature resistance, high-temperature strength, and slag erosion resistance. During construction, the required mixing water is only 1/3 to 1/2 of that used for standard castables, resulting in lower porosity and higher bulk density.
After casting, fewer cementitious products are generated during curing, which means that during heat treatment, there is no significant degradation of hydration bonds that would otherwise lead to a decrease in medium-temperature strength.
